Metallics are a simple way to spice up your shoe game this summer. The sun is shining and bouncing off your feet, so make sure you get a fresh pedi because all eyes will be on your matching sparkly toes. Rose gold is still heavy on trend which is great for every skin tone. Warming up lighter, pinky toned skin; and popping off darker skin tones. Shoes are one of my favourite ways to switch up any basic outfit. Sometimes I find myself outfit repeating for weeks on end (the same jeans with rotating tees) thus; a metallic pop can amp up any everyday outfit from day to night. Imagine wearing an old band tee with cut off Levis. Now that’s in your mind throw on the Steve Madden slides (#9) for a day of running errands. Then, uh oh I’m late for that date I have planned with a cute new boy or gal, pop on those metallic pink Gucci’s, hey girl hayyy! Now that that scenario is in your mind and you’ve been enticed to buy a pair of stand-out summer shoes follow these links below to purchase your new shoes, metallic mama.

Accessories are where I have most of my fun. As you can tell from the name I wear loads of black and that’s not wrong. I try to mix it up here and there but the accessories departments is where I shine, sparkle, fringe-out, fluff (all of the above). I really like to keep it interesting as much as I can, and what is true to my style. My all black attire usually works as my blank canvas and from there the options are endless to add on all the pizazz. If you want to attempt adding more colour or more fashion-forward, interesting statement pieces start with your accessories; they’re basically a gateway drug!

Velvet is back this season, so says the entire fashion industry anyways, and I am into it. I bought this blazer at Zara like a million years ago and I’ve maybe worn in 5 times mostly to class presentations. I bought it because I have always had a slight obsession with velvet. It may be because when I was a kid I remember many of my favourite items I wore being velvet-this red dress I wore for christmas and class photos and this lilac gymnastics suit I continued to wear as a bathing suit well after I stopped going to gymnastics.
This blazer fit really well with all the cuts for the curves I do not have, and I figured was an easy throw-on piece for added structure. Sometimes as a more petite human adding structure to your outfit can be really helpful to shaping you and helping you look a little older even if you paired with boyfriend jeans and a baggy tee.
I love velvet because it’s such a rich texture that adds that extra note of cool to your outfit. Velvet is so underrated but now I’m seeing a huge welcoming to the fabric even in shoes this season. My fuzzy texture loving heart approves.
