Teddy Bear

H&M teddy sweater, Urban Outfitters jeans, vintage scarf and boots, hat via Kensington Market vendor, Forever 21 fanny pack

Turning into a teddy bear seems to be the trend this season and I’m sooo not mad about that. I’m all about a fuzzy piece of clothing and always have been so when this trend started to come about I was extremely excited. It’s also the best trend ever for those of us that don’t like to get out of bed because I’m always soooo cozy in my outfit. I got this sweater at H&M in the Divided section quite recently and I really loved it because it’s the same style as a Patagonia sweater but half the price. I’ve yet to get a good teddy coat but I think that’s my next purchase while this trend is happening.

Currently Craving: Metallic Shoes

Metallics are a simple way to spice up your shoe game this summer. The sun is shining and bouncing off your feet, so make sure you get a fresh pedi because all eyes will be on your  matching sparkly toes. Rose gold is still heavy on trend which is great for every skin tone. Warming up lighter, pinky toned skin; and popping off darker skin tones. Shoes are one of my favourite ways to switch up any basic outfit. Sometimes I find myself outfit repeating for weeks on end (the same jeans with rotating tees) thus; a metallic pop can amp up any everyday outfit from day to night. Imagine wearing an old band tee with cut off Levis. Now that’s in your mind throw on the Steve Madden slides (#9) for a day of running errands. Then, uh oh I’m late for that date I have planned with a cute new boy or gal, pop on those metallic pink Gucci’s, hey girl hayyy! Accessories are where I have most of my fun. As you can tell from the name I wear loads of black and that’s not wrong. I try to mix it up here and there but the accessories departments is  where I shine, sparkle, fringe-out, fluff (all of the above). I really like to keep it interesting as much as I can, and what is true to my style. My all black attire usually works as my blank canvas and from there the options are endless to add on all the pizazz. If you want to attempt adding more colour or more fashion-forward, interesting statement pieces start with your accessories; they’re basically a gateway drug!

Summer Tuxedo

Denim 3

J.O.A. Top (Similar styles @ShopBop), Vintage Levis Shorts, BC California Slides, Joe Fresh Tote, DIY Choker, Bittersweet “t” Necklace for the boy, Urban Outfitters Anklet

Here is my Summer ode to the Canadian Tuxedo that I hold close to my fashion heart. Denim on denim is a look I clothe myself in often because I find it comfortable but still breaks the boundaries of fashion; side note I can sleep in denim no problem, I swear to you it’s my second skin.

I prefer lighter washed and lighter in feel denim during the summer months as it can get pretty hot in our urban jungle. Also, any denim with a fringy finish has my heart as I love the 70s and the carefree nature of dressing in that decade.
