Sunday Brunch

Forever 21 jacket, H&M shirt, vintage denim via Public Butter, thrifted bag and shoes, my boyfriends hat, H&M earrings

This is probably one of my favourite Spring outfits I’ve ever styled. It’s the perfect amount of layering for when it cools off in the evenings and is warm in the day. Looks I lean towards are basics paired with a pop, in this case the jacket and shoes. It’s nice to finally add some colour and texture to my outfits. The Winter just drags on and makes my personal style suffer because I can’t be bothered to change things up. I wish sometimes I was in a warmer climate like L.A. or something; I’m sure all of us Canadians do. This outfit pulls together some of my favourite pieces I own and trends. This bag for example is my obsession for the Summer and it was only $3.00 at Value Village. Some of my most treasured pieces are generally thrifted or vintage finds because they’re absolutely priceless. This Summer I can’t wait to wear more straw bags. I have a bunch I’ve thrifted that need to see the light! What are the trends that you can’t wait to wear this Summer?

Winners Tee, Joe Fresh Waxed Jeans, Aldo Loafers (Similar), H&M Purse (in-store), Guess Watch, Winners Sunnies

I’m all about the graphic Tee, but I mentioned here it’s hard to find the right ones. I’ve been finding a couple here and there that are oversized, but this one just so happens to have been found in the men’s section! I always forget to look and remembered to check on my way out of Winners the other day and found this over-sized gem. Really into the RUN DMC vibe, though I wish is said T.O. not NYC; but beggers can’t be choosers. So that’s my shopping tip for today: Men’s section, they always have perfect graphic tees.

Now till the day I “Run NYC”. Dream big or go home, right?

Granola Chic

DSCF6450Banana Republic Sweater (Similar), BDG Jeans (Old, Similar), Joe Fresh Scarf, Birkenstock Sandals, Longchamp Bag, Vintage and Custom Necklaces, Vintage Ring

Birkenstocks have shined in recent months on the streets trend-setters walk and designers have taken note. Look at Isabel Marant, Zara, Marni etc; granola glam, or ancient roman chic has taken over. Not to toot my own horn or anything *hair flip*, but I was way ahead of this trend rocking my “Boston” clog style ‘Birks’ back in the early 2000s. Obviously on trend with stealing my dad’s workman wool socks to tuck in my flared jeans or ‘TNA’ tights-hello fashion guru. I may cringe, but hey, that was in and my girlfriends and I were ahead of the 2014 trend. FYI, if you lived in the east end of Toronto, and in middle school in the 2000s, and didn’t own your own pair of clog Birks, consider your then teen self uncool.

From grade eight on I was hooked on these comfy, good-for-you shoes. Also, healthcare in Canada covered Birkenstocks, WIN! Hello Birks on dad’s insurance plan. Birks also have helped me through the years I decided to go to art school and dance my butt off everyday. God knows how dance feet feel at the end of the day. Birks may have also saved me from some future health issues.

Now that they’re considered stylish (‘phew’, though that really never stopped me from rocking them before) I constantly crave so many colours and styles more than ever. #Accepted *Jimmy Fallon/JT hashtag move*. I have been looking for metallic blush coloured ones I came across online-If you find them in Canada/shipping please send me an email!

I will probably, no doubt, wear Birks till I die.  How do you feel about The Birkenstock?

Joe Fresh Sweater, Vintage Levis ‘BF’ Shorts, Wanted Sandals, OldNavy Bag, H&M Necklace (Similar), Guess Watch, Bracelets: Vintage, H&M, Unknown

I am obsessed with these vintage Levis boyfriend shorts. Finally the style is in this summer because not everyone has been a fan of my shorts since I bought them many years ago while thrifting. I clearly forecasted the trend of Levis along with the boyfriend short being a popular style for S/S14! I also plan on making a few more pairs after sifting through vintage stores for old Levis Jeans to chop up.

I knew Instantly when I saw this sweater at Joe Fresh I had to have it and pair it with these shorts. I also love it with my boyfriend jeans (last seen here). Because it is so casual I threw on lots of glitzy costume style jewellery with a stacked wrist party and statement necklace, as well as a dressier sandal to vamp up the overly casual vibe. This sweater is a definite play of the Kenzo one that has been ever so popular. If you are in love with it as much as I am but can’t see yourself splurging on a pullover, this affordable Joe Fresh version is just as fierce and so cozy; I have yet to take it off since purchasing.
