Health and wellness have been on a steady incline the last few years and as the new year approaches most people have that as one of their top resolutions. We know it’s a popular way of life because apparently even vegetable prices will be on the rise for the new year! Did you ever think you would see the day where Kobe beef might be cheaper than a bell pepper?

If you have a friend that is all about a healthy lifestyle try to hone in on one of the things they love most. For example if they’re an avid yogi, get them a really cute new “designer” mat they might never buy for themselves. Something I personally like doing is creating my own “gift sets”. Get them a bunch of little bits and bobs that support their healthy lifestyle. I would start with a set of metal straws,  a pocket ‘farmacy’ full of all the essential oils you need to get you through minor hiccups during the day ( I own this and love it), calming Lush bath bombs, as well as, (in my opinion) the best natural deodorant on the market from Kopari found at Sephora. (I tested this bad boy on my  recent trip to Mexico and I was shooketh by how good it is. I was never smelly!)

I would round up a whole bunch of small eco-friendly, health concious vibes into one bag (depending on budget) and start there. It’s always nice to have a little variety.

And so, above are just a few ideas to keep in mind while trying to buy for your kale eating, yoga posing, water drinking bestie.

Happy Shopping!

The shoe that’s taking charge this Fall 2018: Combat boots are back to help you combat the cold weather in style

Slide11) Marc Fisher with a standout lace against the tough black
2) Heavy hardware from Steve Madden
3) A very chunky heel from ASOS
4) Toe warmers from Marc Fisher LTD
5) A shiny, sexier date night friendly combat boot from Marc Fisher LTD
6) Bring back the 90’s from Jeffrey Campbell

The combat boot is definitely back this year. I’m really into a heeled version, obviously because I’m not very tall. I’m really into a chunky boot for this Fall season. They’ll also come in handy when it’s a bit rainy and you have to dredge through gross leaves and what not. I also just think they look effortlessly cool. Marc Fisher is making the best combat boots of the season right now. Number 5 above is exactly the boot I want. Good with mini dresses or cool hemmed jeans. I can’t wait to get my hands on a good pair.

How do you feel about combat boots?

Summer’s end

I’m having a hard time grasping the fact that summer is ending. Thankfully I have a trip to Mexico lined up to satisfy my need for heat and sun. But that will come and go quickly and it’ll be another year until every day is wonderful. That said I’ve been soaking up every minute by wearing sandals and shorts until I can’t. This is my go-to uniform when I need to get dressed quick and it’s warm out. A good vintage tee, light denim cut-offs and fun accessories. Sorry the photos are blurry, took them on my iPhone quickly the other day.

What’s your go-to summer look?

Fall 2018 Coat Trends: The coats we all need to stay stylish and warm this season

This fall there are a few coat trends I have my eye on, keeping in mind actually staying warm while looking good since I live in Canada. Such trends include the oversized puffer, the statement coat (print or shape), a bubblegum pink topper, metallics, and of course the beloved teddy trend from last year still sticking around. I’m currently searching for a coat that will transition me from warmer fall days into the colder fall days specifically because I’m heading to the UK in a couple weeks and it’s much colder there. Since I’ll be schlepping myself around the city being a tourist I need something that isn’t too heavy for the days that aren’t as cold and something I can pop a sweater under if it does drop a few degrees lower than expected. I have a few coats already from last year that are still “on trend”: the long denim with faux shearling lining, the faux shearling leather jacket, a small puffer, and a leopard coat but I’m just in need of a new basic that has a weeeee bit more warmth and sophistication. I’m leaning towards something of a soft plaid in a neutral colour scheme like the coat from Mango, or a wrap coat in a good camel colour (they’re always too long on my small frame). I guess you’ll see in photos to come which coat I fall through with. Get it, Fall through. Tried to make a pun happen. It didn’t. Let’s move on.

What jackets trends are you leaning towards purchasing this season?
