It’s officially Spring, although it’s still cold and calling for snow Sunday, but       WELCOME TO CANADA FOLKS! The weather better start to warm up because I have a birthday looming and if it isn’t nice then it’s not worth celebrating! That’s just the bratty me talking but my birthday has always been hot (if you read my blog you know the story and if you don’t well sorry I hate repeating myself) so when it’s not it just kinda stinks; you can’t dress cute or eat birthday ice cream if it’s not H-A-W-T out, am I right?

Any who, in no way is this a birthday list of possible gifts. We all know that went out the window the day I turned..16 I think. It was like “oh yeah, you’re sweet alright sweet… and TOO OLD FOR GIFTS!” So let’s take this above list as inspiration of what I may be gifting myself this year. After all, we come into this world alone and we go out alone, and I will live alone in a dumpster with my maxed out credit card in the meantime.

Check out what I craved last time here!

A Surprising Combo: Dress-over-Pants

Ray-Ban Sunnies, Aritzia Dress (Fall version), Joe Fresh Jeans (DIY cut ankles), Pedro Miralles Mules, Longchamp Bag, Vintage Scarf

I think it’s time for us to reconsider the extended use of our closets and how to maximize the amount of clothing we have. I could very much be talking about myself but let’s be realistic I’m not the only girl on the planet with a shopping problem. Dresses over jeans aren’t exactly ideal in anyone’s fashion lingo, but give it a try! Play with shades, and length. The more boho and loose the more it will work.

Levis Boyfriend Shorts

Urban Outfitters Top, Vintage Levis BF Shorts, Pedro Miralles Mules, Joe Fresh Bralette, Longchamp Bag, Ray-Ban Sunnies

Once again caught up being my usual self in denim cut-offs. This time in a BF cut. Though wearing your “BF’s” clothing isn’t always flattering, this style short is probably my all time fave so don’t tell me otherwise! They’re comfortable, you don’t have to worry about your half-moon butt cheeks falling out, and with a good heel you can dress them up for a night out. These are vintage, so sorry folks you can’t exactly purchase them, but I believe they are a men’s 29/30 waist pant cut into knee length shorts and my waist size is a 24/25 if that gives you ANY insight. I found that Aritzia and Urban Outfitters have a great not so vintage Levis selection of BF (long hem) denim shorts.

Can we also just take in this fun top! Urban’s sale was just too good. An extra 30% off sale items (in-store), that’s why credit cards were invented; am I right!?

Granola Chic

DSCF6450Banana Republic Sweater (Similar), BDG Jeans (Old, Similar), Joe Fresh Scarf, Birkenstock Sandals, Longchamp Bag, Vintage and Custom Necklaces, Vintage Ring

Birkenstocks have shined in recent months on the streets trend-setters walk and designers have taken note. Look at Isabel Marant, Zara, Marni etc; granola glam, or ancient roman chic has taken over. Not to toot my own horn or anything *hair flip*, but I was way ahead of this trend rocking my “Boston” clog style ‘Birks’ back in the early 2000s. Obviously on trend with stealing my dad’s workman wool socks to tuck in my flared jeans or ‘TNA’ tights-hello fashion guru. I may cringe, but hey, that was in and my girlfriends and I were ahead of the 2014 trend. FYI, if you lived in the east end of Toronto, and in middle school in the 2000s, and didn’t own your own pair of clog Birks, consider your then teen self uncool.

From grade eight on I was hooked on these comfy, good-for-you shoes. Also, healthcare in Canada covered Birkenstocks, WIN! Hello Birks on dad’s insurance plan. Birks also have helped me through the years I decided to go to art school and dance my butt off everyday. God knows how dance feet feel at the end of the day. Birks may have also saved me from some future health issues.

Now that they’re considered stylish (‘phew’, though that really never stopped me from rocking them before) I constantly crave so many colours and styles more than ever. #Accepted *Jimmy Fallon/JT hashtag move*. I have been looking for metallic blush coloured ones I came across online-If you find them in Canada/shipping please send me an email!

I will probably, no doubt, wear Birks till I die.  How do you feel about The Birkenstock?
