Forever 21 jacket, H&M shirt, vintage denim via Public Butter, thrifted bag and shoes, my boyfriends hat, H&M earrings
This is probably one of my favourite Spring outfits I’ve ever styled. It’s the perfect amount of layering for when it cools off in the evenings and is warm in the day. Looks I lean towards are basics paired with a pop, in this case the jacket and shoes. It’s nice to finally add some colour and texture to my outfits. The Winter just drags on and makes my personal style suffer because I can’t be bothered to change things up. I wish sometimes I was in a warmer climate like L.A. or something; I’m sure all of us Canadians do. This outfit pulls together some of my favourite pieces I own and trends. This bag for example is my obsession for the Summer and it was only $3.00 at Value Village. Some of my most treasured pieces are generally thrifted or vintage finds because they’re absolutely priceless. This Summer I can’t wait to wear more straw bags. I have a bunch I’ve thrifted that need to see the light! What are the trends that you can’t wait to wear this Summer?
My birthday is looming, yes I say looming because the years are flying by! I have a grey hair that won’t quit and some wrinkles of which I never believed would appear, but THEY DO/DID! Anyways, my birthday also reminds me that I get to spoil myself. Now that I’m an adult, I am allowed to spend my money the way I please. I think self love is super important so why not? I want to start a new tradition for myself of buying a piece of jewellery for myself each birthday. Jewellery is something I can collect and look at to remind me of the place I was in when I bought it, so I think this will be a special thing I do for myself. Agree?
I bought this romper for my friend’s 30th birthday bash on a boat a couple weeks back. It’s been warmageddon out here in Toronto but our evenings can get chilly so I figured being out on the water it could get a tad cold and the longer sleeve may come in handy. I’ve always been attracted to pieces that have long sleeves and a shorter bottom half. I think it gives garments an edgier vibe while still being slightly modest. Thankfully this piece is a short-short romper because it WAS super short. I was initially into this piece because of the colour and it’s 70s vibe, but also because I wanted something fun and easy to wear while on a boat; so a romper with that hint of sexy lace-up in the front was perfect. I’m not much of a person for prints unless it’s snake skin or something along those animalistic lines, but this retro print wasn’t too aggressive and didn’t take over my petite frame so it worked.
