Currently Craving: Shopping For A New Wallet

Money, money, money, must be funny, in the rich man’s world.

Shopping for a new wallet is probably as hard for me as shopping for jeans. I somehow have this OCD process as to which my wallet needs to meet certain credentials to make the cut. With that I’m dreading coming to terms with needing a new wallet. I currently have a super fun Kate Spade wallet in this highlighter neon yellow/green colour but the fabric in the coin holder has ripped and the zipper get’s stuck on it so I basically can’t use that part and paying to fix that fabric is a little silly, but I just love my little wallet. The thing is I have a very specific style I like when it comes to wallets. I really don’t like the zipper wallets, I only like trifolds or bifolds where I can see everything in front of me and easily pull out cards and money to pay. I also like when the card slots are vertical because again I just find it easier to see everything and pull things out quicker. I also really like when the coin pouch is on the outside preferably on the back of the wallet. I also don’t like “cheap” wallets; designer wallets just last longer. Think about how often you whip your wallet out and then toss it carelessly in your bag…A LOT! I’d like the things I purchase to last, so I spend more to last longer. Think about all the “cheaper” wallets you’ve bought over the years and how many times you’ve probably had to replace it, it’s just not worth it. Splurge a little and the payoff is there I swear.

I’m really not a very picky person but for some reason I’m very particular when it comes to wallets. As long as it meets most of those above credentials and it’s not a zip around wallet then we’re on our way to the mall, or the bank to pay off the designer Visa charge.

1) Coach slim trifold wallet: The inside of this perfect emerald green wallet is a gorgeous rose graffiti print that I am obsessed with. That is number one on my list for a reason!     (I think it may be the winner)

2) Gucci leather french flap wallet: As a fan of  good Feng Shui, red wallets bring luck and money; something you’ll need after you purchase this wallet. I’m also a huge fan of smaller wallets so I don’t have to condense into a card holder when I switch to smaller bags.

3) Frye harness leather continental wallet via Nordstrom: Super simple and sleek, I am digging this minimalism/functionality combo.

4) Chloe alphabet long wallet: Every girl wants to be a #chloegirls and I need a little dusty rose Chloe in my life.

5) Kate Spade New York ‘cameron street-stacy’ textured leather wallet via Nordstrom: Classic style and no fuss inside just like I like it!

6) Mackage ATLAS envelope wallet- Canadian brand in a Canadian colour. Yes and Yes.

7) Liebeskind ‘SLAMR’ wallet-ON SALE and so fierce. Great leather for a great price and super cute mustard yellow colour and snakeskin texture combo.

Urban Outfitters Dress(Similar Styles Here and Here), Coach Heels, H&M Rings

This past weekend I attended an amazing person’s wedding that I am proud to share a bloodline with. My cousin is such an awesome guy, your wife is lucky to have yah! Attending an evening summer wedding can be daunting. Women just have too many options, and that doesn’t help us it just makes it more complicated. Too much choice is not a good thing-think of a man standing in a sea of beautiful women; “S.O.S”.Women spend tireless amounts of hours on what they’re going to wear. I dread the day I have to buy my own wedding gown; future bridesmaids you get a colour palette so go nuts and try to find a dress. During the months leading up to the wedding my mother and I were still at a loss. It’s when it comes to crunch time that we finally decide.

Attending a wedding at a castle no less (hi enter the set of Reign at Casa Loma) I truly was stuck on what to wear. I over think any outfit, even going to the grocery store sometimes (anyone that knows me can vouch for me there). So I went with black and a coloured shoe for a pop of colour, might I add I snagged these Coach beauties at a killer discount at Winners; hello #winnersfabfind. LBDs are something you’ll never get rid of and tend to be timeless depending on the cut. My fave LBD I own thus far.

When it comes to attending a wedding, don’t be afraid to have some fun with fashion. You’re the guest, spotlight isn’t on you so don’t expect too many eyes. And if you’re single dress HAWT, ladies this can be the place to meet your man. Love is in the air and everyone is feeling fuzzy inside. Snag a dance and his heart in your drop dead outfit!

Here are some of my picks for end of summer weddings that go beyond a dress.

I also never really thought of Casa Loma for a wedding. You think people go there to get a history lesson as a kid in school, why would they want to attend a wedding there; but it is truly an outstanding venue. While the wedding party took photos we were able to go on self tours of the castle during reception. Some receptions are so painful, especially when you’re the date of someone in the wedding party so Casa Loma wins that aspect. It’s also gorgeous with the city in the background at night, the fountains, and the flower garden that is never ending. As a blogger you start to take in your surroundings and note great places to go back and snap photos-note, Casa Loma is on my ‘return to take photos’ list. The inside is romantic and vintage (duh), so if that is the style of your wedding I suggest it. It was also set-up really well. You walked in and were able to enjoys drinks at the bar and head outside for air. Then down the hall they said their vows. We were then headed back to the entry hall for drinks and tours where dinner was set up in the room next door. You could see where they said their vows earlier from the dining room and the dance floor was the perfect size within.

One of Toronto’s top wedding venues for sure!

DSCF6421Joe Fresh Tee, DIY Jeans (even more distressed, last seen here), Coach Sandals, Ray-Ban Sunnies, Vintage and Custom Necklaces, Guess Watch

I have this obsession with oversized tee’s and the way that guys wear them. The last guy I dated always wore plain tees, usually black, with the sleeves rolled up. I didn’t realize how much that inspired me until I bought this tee, in a size larger than I normally would have. I also don’t generally buy/own tees, let alone graphic tees, but I felt this one was a good leeway into buying more as the colour and print are pretty subdued.

These pants were last seen many posts ago. I wore them a few times after I distressed them but then again folded them into the back of my closet. So, true to self to make things ‘wearable’ again, I brought out the scissors. I’ve seen these jeans everywhere lately, cut off and frayed at the bottom; thus I’ve since gone and cropped  (taken scissors to) a bunch of other jeans I don’t wear. I love the way they look with a short heeled bootie, strappy heels and/or strappy flat sandals.
