The world of fashion is saying good-bye to Oscar de la Renta. The man that had the pleasure of dressing some of the most powerful women in the world, with a modest nature and effortless love for women’s evening wear and creating the perfect party dress. His gowns are a work of art and even if he was still with us, wearing his work would be an honour. I have been drooling over his designs for as long as I can remember. I remember prom dress shopping in Yorkville, Toronto and taking a few good minutes to stare at something so out of reach; which sometimes makes me love fashion more because the untouchable is more desirable. Women wearing his work are breath taking, and have an instant breath of confidence with that much glam and care in the art piece on their bodies.
Here’s a look of some of my favourites.
